The Carol Greco Group Has Grown!

The Carol Greco Group is proud to announce the birth of Daniel Shokraei on Friday November 2nd. Son of  Carrie and Kevin Shokraaei, Mr. Daniel is doing well! And, here's a funny story that will be remembered with  his birth. On that very same night, Carol was in the emergency room of Alexandria Hosipital with husband Phil who had a kidney stone. While Phil was being x-rayed, Carol went up to see Carrie who was in Labor at you guessed it--Alexandria Hospital!. They got a call that one of Carrie's listings had a contract registered on it. Daniel arrived 20 minutes later--all set for business. Ha! Ha! Our love and affection to that sweet little boy as well as to sisters Haliey and Sophia. May life treat all of you well.

Chris Kelly one of our preferred Lenders with Prosperity Mortgage just came back from the amateur "world series" of baseball in Phoenix Arizona and guess, what? His team, The Fedlock Falcons won!  This was the teams 3rd national championship in 4 years. Way to go Chris. We always knew you were a winner!

Help for For Sale By Owners

Did you know The Carol Greco Group has a website designed just for For Sale By Owners? Check out northernvirginiaforsalebyowner.com. It doesnt cost anything to add your home to our list but you must agree to pay the agent who brings you a buyer a 3% broker fee.

One of the risks you run as a For Sale By Owner, especially now, is letting people into your home that are not qualified to buy and you many have no way of knowing until its too late. Safety is also a concern when letting strangers into your home. We at The Carol Greco Group only work with pre-qualified buyers.

Many start out as For Sale By Owners to save the commission and that is okay but numerous studies have show that in the end FSBOs net less than those Sellers who use a full service Realtor.

Its a really tricky market right now but we understand that some Sellers want to try on their own and we want to support you as best possible.

Please stay tuned to our blog for some helpful tips for FSBOs.

Walk to D'feet ALS

Last October we lost a wonderful friend, George Vinall, to his battle with ALS. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease is a fatal neuromuscular disease which attacks the motor neurons making even the simplest movements of walking, speaking and gesturing impossible. Ultimately the body becomes paralyzed yet through it all, typically the mind remains unaffected. Such was the case with George. Despite this difficult illness he was fun to be around. To those who were lucky enough to know him, he taught us more about how to live than how to die. He was an inspiration--everyone's "pal" and a sweetheart of a man!

George's Gang" (The George Vinall Team) is participating in the Walk in memory of George Vinall and to support the ALS foundation. The Walk takes place in Washington DC on Saturday, Oct 21st. Tax free contributions will support the ALS Foundation nationally directed research to find a cure for ALS, as well as supporting the local DC/MD/VA  ALS chapter which helps families in the area with patient service programs. "George"s Gang" hopes to raise $4000 in the Walk.

If you are interested in participating in the walk or would like to pledge a tax free contribution to one of "Georges" Gang" you can do so by going to the website www.fightals.alsinfo.org and clicking on the Washington DC walk.

George we miss you. You are in our hearts!

http://www.fcps.edu/mediapub/pressrel/sat2007.pdf

The winners were Richard and Mary Pernicano of Fairfax. That won a $100 gas gift card for correctly guessing it was team member, Carrie Shokraei. Carrie is pregnant with her third child. She already has two girls. This one is a boy! A welcome November suprise for one and all.

Anyone want to suggest a name?  Stay tuned.....!
